In the first of our “Meet the Team” series we’d like to introduce you to Adam Berry, a Solutions Architect here at Cloudsource.
Adam joined us in 2017 and his in-depth industry and product knowledge has since enabled him to play an integral role in our Sales team. Recently, Adam established the Cloudsource University, a structured training program to support the on-boarding and development of new starters.
Q. What does a typical working day at Cloudsource look like for you?
A. My days are very varied! I can be in the office training staff, out in the field seeing customers and informing them about all of our amazing products, or at home writing new material for training and completing proposals for larger solutions.
Q. What do you enjoy most about your role?
A. I love that I do a bit of everything. I am involved with marketing, sales and and the technical team to ensure all of Cloudsource’s products are sold, installed and maintained correctly.
Q. How did you end up being a Solutions architect?
A. I started in account management straight from Uni. After finding that I loved the technology I became more focused on learning as much about the industry and products as I could. My passion for the products is what most people mention when they meet me. This along with a past in sales led me to where I am today.
Q. What advice would you give to anyone looking to become a Solutions Architect?
A. I would advise people to enjoy learning. You are never done! I have taken more exams and courses since finishing Uni than I did whilst there! If you enjoy the learning you will alway seek to know more and product knowledge is what this role is all about.
Q. How would you describe the company culture at Cloudsource?
A. Fast paced and enjoyable! I love being in the office as there is a buzz around the place all the time. Everyone can have an idea and we can get to work on it right away. That kind of culture is hard to find. We love to celebrate success here too so there are lots of congratulatory emails sent out!
Q. What would you be if you weren’t a Solutions Architect?
A. Good Question! I honestly have no idea! I think it would have to be something in technology, with a customer facing side to it.
Q. How do you relax outside of work?
A. I love to keep fit, so any manner of activity! It could be something strenuous like weight training or martial arts, or something as simple as taking a walk somewhere new. I try to visit country house gardens or parks and walk there with my girlfriend. A picnic is always a good addition! The activity gives my mind time to relax so I can take on new information when I return to work.
